Clean out to Make Room for Jesus
In my #minsgame challenge of giving away stuff this month, there have been many iconic items that sum up my personality, and here is another one. Today is April 17th. I have already selected 153 items to go into our yard sale on May 11th, and somehow this mug is still here. I have neither been to Union University nor do I know what they believe; honestly, Idk where it is, but I got this mug at a conference, and I like it.
I keep it on the off-chance that someday I will visit campus (once I find out where it is), and I can drink a cup of coffee out of it. However, remembering that this challenge, for me, is to make room for Jesus, this mug will make its way to the pile tomorrow. Sometimes in life, we must purge our hopes to cling tighter to other hopes.
My ambitions clutter up my destiny, potentially hindering my focus for what God has called me to do. Yeah, I know one mug doesn't really matter in the grand scope of things, but it is what it represents. It represents me taking every free item I can at fairs and conferences because I love potential and opportunity. So, after holding on to this hope for over 2 years, as of April 18, this mug is leaving so that I can embrace other things. Hopefully, my desire to fill my life with other things when God has already given me a clear vision will fade away as well.
